As part of a planned follow-up of all detections of the methanol multibeam (MMB) survey (class~II masers) in the class I maser transition at 44 GHz, we propose observations of the sources located in the outer Galaxy. The observations will deliver accurate positions of class I masers, allow us to search for association with shocks and provide a continuum and recombination line measurement with unprecedented sensitivity. The study of class I masers will help understanding the evolutionary stages when methanol masers are present.
