Expressions are derived for convective and radiative heat fluxes and the wavedrag and friction-drag coefficients for axisymmetric and flat bodies moving in the atmosphere of planets in the solar system. Calculations of the total heating and drag of blunted cones moving along a trajectory in the atmospheres of the Earth, Venus, Mars, and Jupiter were performed. Possible formulations of variational problems on lowering the aerodynamic heating of probes were established on the basis of analysis of these calculations.
