We introduce the chiral symmetry in the description of finite nuclei with the
hope to unify the hadron and nuclear physics. This trial becomes possible by
introducing finite pion mean field, which contributes largely to enhance the
spin-orbit splitting so as to provide the j-j magic number. We discuss the
qualitative consequence of the finite pion mean field for various observables.
