We report observations of unusual molecular abundances in the neutral envelopes of two evolved planetary nebulae with strong H2 and CO, NGC 6072 and IC 4406. In both nebulae we have detected millimeter transitions of CN, HCO+, HCN, and HNC. The CN lines are strong, and abundance estimates show that CN is enhanced relative to HCN by about an order of magnitude. The HCO+ and HNC abundances, relative to HCN, are also much larger than are typically found in red giant envelopes. The presence of these species in the envelopes of evolved planetary nebulae points to an on going chemistry which is likely dominated by photodissociation, shocks, and ion-molecule reactions.
