Charge exchanges involving excited states of hydrogen are discussed, with a focus on both laboratory and astrophysical plasmas mainly composed of hydrogen isotopes and helium. Both passive and active sources of neutral hydrogen in laboratory plasmas are considered, and a review of ion-ion charge exchange is given. The discussion of charge exchange in astrophysical plasmas outlines both solar coronal plasmas and nebular plasmas. The specific areas studied include corona equilibrium, the chromosphere-corona transition region, ionization balance of H in nebulae, thermal balance of nebulae, and a consideration of planetary nebulae as important astrophysical laboratories for the study of charge exchange.
