The nature of on-going star formation in the nuclear region of our own Milky Way Galaxy is not well understood. While infrared dark clouds (IRDCs), which are known to harbor the early stages of star formation, are found toward the Galactic center, the properties of these particular IRDCs have yet to be studied in detail. We wish to obtain sensitive on-the-fly maps of molecular line emission (using MOPS in broadband mode) to study 7 Galactic center IRDCs. Like Galactic disk IRDCs, these clouds contain cores that appear to be in different evolutionary states. We will compare these new Galactic center IRDC data with previously obtained molecular line emission from Galactic disk IRDC cores. If the properties of the Galactic center IRDC cores are indistinguishable from their Galactic disk counterparts, then star formation in the Galactic center IRDCs may proceed similarly to star formation in Galactic disk IRDCs. If not, however, then the difference could imply that the initial physical conditions for star formation within IRDCS in the Galactic center may by influenced by their unique environment.
