The cosmic-ray flare of Feb. 16, 1984 was investigated on the basis of data from the worldwide network of neutron supermonitors. The coordinates of the flare on the sun responsible for the increase in the relativistic-proton flux in earth orbit are determined. The results obtained indicate that the maximum of the increase in the particle flux has a fine structure determined by processes occurring in the particle-acceleration source.
