Most H(alpha) spotless flares on solar disk with no spots or very small spots constitute a rare but well observed aspect of solar activity. Information about their frequency of occurrence and their timing relating to 1222 such flares from January 1976 to October 1999 has been studied. In this period these flares represented approx. 1.5% of all confirmed flares. The frequency distribution showed that the number of spotless flare were vary with solar activity, but the amplitude of the cycle is rather different. In general, most of the spotless flares are short lived and characterized by fast rise to maximum intensity and slower decay.
