The common characteristics of the stronger active regions of proton
flares in the 22nd solar activity cycle have been studied. All of the
sunspot groups have rotation, and rotation angles are the largest within
1 - 2 days before the proton flare; after proton flares the rotation of
the sunspot groups is decelerated.
