Relaxation of parameters to background levels in a disturbed region created in the atmosphere by a source of ultraviolet radiation is considered. It is shown that at altitudes of 100 - 140 km a decrease of concentrations of the disturbed components is mostly due to the role of chemical reactions and random radiation. The spatial and temporal distributions of parameters and intensities of the airglows stimulated by the effect of the UV-radiation pulse are calculated.
