Spontaneous And Radiative Symmetry Breaking

The origin of the trace anomaly and of the central charge in the
Virasoro algebra associated with the energy-momentum tensor of a bosonic
two-dimensional model is considered. It is shown that both these
quantities represent different aspects of the same gravitational
anomaly.
