The causal structure of events in experiments involving atomic scales cannot be predicted and must always be assumed a priori. We argue this has a consequence in the way probabilities are predicted in quantum theory. We show that whenever it is predicted the probability that the events involved in an experiment with a given causal structure jointly happen, this probability could be computed as if the causal structure of the events were arbitrarily different. This property is called Causal Strucure Invariance and constitutes a rather concise way to explain the quantum formalism.
