The Positions of Satellites 1959 α1 (from February 17 to June 30, 1959) and 1959 Eta (from September 18 to December 31, 1959) are obtained from precise reduction of the films taken at the 12 Baker-Nunn stations. Sources of possible error (camera accuracy, station-clock stability, methods of photoreduction, and time reduction, etc.) are discussed and the appropriate corrections made.
