In the DYNAMITRON laboratory of the University of Stuttgart capture reactions have been investigated which are important for the nucleosynthesis of the elements. Various stellar models describing nucleosynthesis require nuclear reaction rates at burning temperatures with sufficient accuracy. Applying techniques of high sensitivity to cross section measurements one is straining to extend these measurements as far as possible into the astrophysically relevant range at low energies. But despite all these efforts one often has to apply extrapolations or one has to investigate mirror nuclei in cases where the target nucleus is not available in sufficient amounts. .
