Besides the well known strombolian activity, Stromboli shows the presence of a continuous volcanic tremor. Tectonic events in the area are rare and no evidence of a local tectonic event changing the characteristics of the tremor was previously known. In April and May, 2006 a swarm of tectonic events was recorded, located very close to the island of Stromboli, possibly within the same volcanic edifice. In this paper we analyse the time evolution of several dynamical parameters computed on the volcanic tremor and show examples where abrupt transitions can be associated to the occurrence of such local tectonic events. This suggests that these events may be related to the volcanic activity, i.e. be proper volcano-tectonic events.
