A summary of the relations and spectroscopic parameters required for the accurate prediction of transition frequencies and rotational line strengths of the gamma bands of NO is presented. Relations for the rotational line strengths are given that include the effects of finite centrifugal distortion, higher order spin-orbit coupling and lambda-doubling. The effect of these corrections on the calculated line strengths is considered. The magnitude of these corrections is found to increase with rotational number to levels of 5-15% for values of J > 50, the corrections being more prominent in satellite than in main branch transitions.
