A method for determining the density of the X-ray energy flux during solar flares is presented. The flux density is taken in the form of a power law and is calculated using data for the ionization velocity at two altitudes in the low ionosphere. The functional dependence of the absorption of the energy flux on the X-ray wavelength and on altitude is derived. Calculated values of the flux for some sample flares are in agreement with experimental data obtained by outer space probes.
