The paper is concerned with the problem of determining the rotation axis of the solid earth as a geometrical locus of zero accelerations. In the general case, such an axis does not pass through the earth center of inertia due to a shift of the earth-sun and earth-moon attraction resultants. The solution presented here can be used for calculating the centrifugal force in the interpretation of current gravimetric observations.
