The science goals for the James Webb Space Telescope demand a high
performance, wide field imager covering 0.6 to 5 microns. NIRCam is well
into its construction phase with flight detectors, optical benches,
bandpass filters, and many other components already in hand. Progress in
building NIRCam and its projected performance are reviewed.
