A BRST treatment of translational symmetry on flat manifolds, where
torsion does not vanish, displays well-known features of differential
geometry. In particular the covariant exterior derivative operator is
identified as the BRST operator corresponding to translational symmetry.
Its nilpotency is due to vanishing curvature on the manifold.
