We discuss lower and upper bounds on the Higgs mass using different values of the coupling constant lambda of the self-interacting scalar field by considering a new inflationary scenario. We use the value of the amplitude of the primordial energy density fluctuations as inferred from the COBE results and the top quark mass as recently measured by the D0 and CDF experiments. The upper bound obtained on the Higgs mass is compatible with the upper bound favoured by the electroweak data.
