Additional bounds on inflation models are obtained which follow from the possible spatial inhomogeneity of the initial scalar field. Exponential estimates are also made for the probability of formation in the context of the chaotic inflation model. The estimates indicate that the very concept of the chaotic inflation scenario is unrealistic for the minimum required inflation ratio.
