Boundary conditions are derived for the propagation of Alfven waves in the solar corona which take into account the loss of wave energy to the photosphere and chromosphere. The boundary conditions are then applied to the study of resonances in coronal loops. The loop model is similar to the three layer model of Hollweg (Astrophysical Journal 277, 392-403, 1984) except that the photospheric layers of Hollweg's model are replaced by coronal boundary conditions at the two ends of the loop. Results are presented for the resonant frequencies of coronal loops as well as the response to forced oscillations at one of the footpoints.
