The recent several years have seen dramatic progress in our understanding of blazar jets, thanks to the advent of new space-based and ground-based observatories at the higher energies. The upcoming decade, starting with the launch of GLAST in late 2007, is well poised to become the golden era of blazar multiwavelength studies. In this talk, I will review the most salient multiwavelength campaigns of blazars conducted so far, with particular emphasis on Swift results. I will discuss the lessons learned from these past observations, and what we can expect in the GLAST era.
