If gravity becomes strong at the TeV scale, we may have the chance to produce black holes at particle colliders. In this paper we study some experimental signatures of black hole production in TeV-gravity theories. In contrast with the usual lore, we show that the black hole energy loss in the bulk during the Hawking evaporation phase may be of the same order of the energy radiated into the brane. We investigate in detail the multiplicity of the decay products of black hole evaporation. We find that the number of particles produced during the evaporation phase is significantly lower than the average multiplicity which has been used in the past literature.
