Scientific paper

The paper presents results of a study of two regions of the north polar cap of Venus using 32-cm bistatic radar. Spatial distributions of reflectance and roughness in these regions were obtained. Measured values of the reflection coefficient are, on the average, 1.5-6 dB below the theoretically predicted value, which indicates the possible effect of absorption in the polar troposphere of the planet.
