On assumption that the interaction between nucleons is described by a non-local, separable potential, the triton binding energy as well as the neutron-deuteron scattering lengths are calculated with various forms of the two-particle potential. The potential parameters were determined from the data on the interaction of two nucleons at low energies. The binding energy and doublet length have been studied as functions of the singlet effective range of the interaction between nucleons. Unlike the quartet length, the binding energy and doublet length are found to depend essentially on the shape of the two-particle potential. The allowance for the tensor forces results in a closer agreement with the experimental data. In the case of the certain separable potential involving the tensor interaction and describing the interaction between nucleons at low energies, it has been found that the triton binding energy and doublet scattering lengths are in agreement with experimental values.
