The method of hyperspherical "surface" functions has been applied to the
calculation of eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of muonic molecular ions
$^{3,4}\! H\! ed\mu $. Binding energies and nonradiative decay rates for the
states of the total angular momentum $L=0,~1,~2$ have been obtained.
