A new exact solution of the Einstein equations corresponding to a conformally invariant scalar field with trace-free energy-momentum tensor is obtained for the Bianchi type-I metric. The solution represents an anisotropic homogeneous cosmological model which admits anisotropic expansions. The Kasner universe is found in a systematic way. Some properties of the model have been discussed.
