This contribution focuses on the results of a series of mathematical models which simulate the most important geophysical processes responsible for the deformation at crustal, lithospheric and mantle level. Post-Glacial Rebound, continent-continent collision and oceanic subduction are modelled by means of analytical and finite element models in order to emphasize the benefits in the usage of the GOCE data within Solid Earth Geophysics. Our results indicate that the new image of the Earth interior as provided by GOCE will contribute to better constrain, with respect to the present status, the physical parameters defining the outermost portion of out planet and its dynamics.
