The paper reports experimental data on the behavior of the
middle-latitude sporadic E layer during oblique irradiation of the
ionosphere by powerful decameter waves. Differential and integral
distributions of critical frequencies of the sporadic E layer are
presented for both quiet and disturbed conditions.
