After recalling the main motivation for baryonic dark matter, it is argued that the featureless character of the galactic rotation curves strongly suggests that galactic halos should be predominantly baryonic. Moreover, it is shown that the Fall-Rees theory for the formation of globular clusters automatically leads - without any further physical assumption - to a specific model of baryonic dark halos, whose observational implications are stressed
