We study the problem of generating the baryon asymmetry of the universe in theories with spontaneous B-nonconservation. In the context of the minimal [SU (4)]4 model it is shown that spontaneous B-violation which occurs simultaneously with color symmetry breaking (i.e. at energies of order 1 GeV) is inconsistent with cosmological data.
