``More babies are born under a full moon than at any other time.'' Many
of us have heard this assertion, and a few years ago I tried to get data
that would support it. The note ``A Lesson in Curve Fitting'' by Scott
Calvin (Phys. Teach. 37, 340, Sept. 1999) provoked me to pass some of
the data on to readers of The Physics Teacher.
