Results are reported from 44 nights of scanning the O I 6300 A emission line of the thermospheric neutral wind (TNW) at altitudes of 170-280 km with a ground-based Fabry-Perot spectrometer at College, AK. The observations were made during periods of moderate solar activity. The direction of the TNW was mainly to the northwest in early evening, to the south near midnight and to the southeast near morning. The wind speed increased with increases in geomagnetic activity, which also caused temporal progressions in the zonal directional changes. An equatorward movement with the auroral oval was also observed to occur during increases in geomagnetic activity. During periods of relative quiescence in geomagnetic activity the meridional TNW speeds were similar to those in the south. Finally, the temperature of the TNW was determined to be a function of the level of geomagnetic activity and the 10.7 cm solar flux of the previous day.
