Conductivity profiles of the 8337 E-region determined from EISCAT data for the 1985-1986 period are used to compute the height of the conductivity maxima for the Hall and Pedersen conductivities H(max) and the height-integrated Hall and Pedersen conductivities. The results show an increase of the conductivities and a decrease of H(max) with increasing magnetic activity. It is shown that, on average, the conductivities are maximal during the early morning hours (due to hard particle precipitation), with a solar zenith angle dependence of the conductivities being significant for low solar activity values.
