Possible correlations between the abundances of cosmic rays at the
source and the solar system abundances are discussed. It is shown that
cosmic ray source abundances could be explained if the particles are
accelerated to injection energies in a dilute, moderately hot plasma,
from which they escape in a rigidity dependent fashion.
