A COMMUNICATION by Venkatesachar and Sibaiya appeared in NATURE for Nov.
30, 1929, in which the opinion was expressed that some of the faint
nebulous lines of the mercury arc were in reality Raman lines of mercury
excited by the more powerful radiations.
