A renormalizable, asymptotically free theory of quantum gravity is
proposed and shown to exhibit a unitary S-matrix via the Lee-Wick
construction. The consequences of the theory for black holes are
discussed. Asymptotic freedom argues against any singularity in the
final state of an evaporating quantum black hole.
