We analyze hemispheric asymmetry in the sunspot distribution over a solar cycle. Butterfly diagrams as plots of the latitudes of emerging sunspots against time are studied in order to find similarities and differences between Northern and Southern hemispheres. Long-term anticorrelations between time lags in hemispheric leading and "magnetic equator" shifts are found. The secular variability of the North-South asynchrony on the order of 90 years is identified. The asymmetry of butterfly diagrams just before and during the Global Minimums is discussed.
