The astrophysical maser linewidth is an outstanding interesting and important physical quantity to both observation and theory. When the effect of elastic collisions is considered, the linewidth of a saturated maser is smaller than predicted by the traditional standard theory, and it is smaller for stronger elastic collisions. The evolution of linewidths against saturation is shown and detailedly discussed. This may help explain some observed linewidths.
