The cosmic abundances of baryonic Q-balls and similar neutron absorbers are severely constrained by big bang nucleosynthesis and capture in neutron star progenitors. Astrophysical limits are orders of magnitude more restrictive than limits from cosmic ray detectors, but some of the limits assume that Q-stars cannot sustain neutron star glitches. If Q-balls are stable and Q-stars can explain glitches, most neutron stars are predicted to be Q-stars.
