The date of Chou conquest of Shang is a long pending problem in history. There are not less than 35 viewpoints up to now, and the longest gap of the dates is more than 110 years. Astronomical phenomena are dependable bases for dating. The authors present the introduction and analysis of the astronomical phenomena of conquering Shang. Recently, radiocarbon dating technology develops quickly and the precision is expected to achieve 0.2 - 0.5% in a short time. Thus, researching and tackling the topic by combining astronomy, history, archaeology and radiocarbon dating technology may make a breakthrough in determining the date of Chou conquest of Shang and then, obtain a trustworthy result.
