We present the results of the analysis of a large amount of inflight ASCA data, as well as multi-mission cross-calibration studies to provide empirical measures of the absolute and relative (between SIS0 and SIS1) degradation in the SIS low-energy response. The time period covers almost the entire lifetime of ASCA so far. Until a proper physical model of the degradation is available (see paper by Dotani et al) these results can be used to quantitatively estimate the loss in SIS efficiency for a given observation. We also outline future plans to improve the GIS+XRT and SIS+XRT spectral responses, correcting the discrepancy in the energy scales between the SIS and GIS.
