This proposal comprises the annual request for 24 hrs of ATCA time to be allocated to projects which are yet to be developed by the 2006/2007 Vacation students. It is anticipated that two groups of approximately six students will design two projects: one galactic and one extragalatic, and share this time to obtain full a 12 hr synthesis cycle per group. This allocation can be regarded as an investment for future astronomical research.
