Verification of the dynamic range of the ASAR raw data is necessary to ensure optimal use of the instrument capabilities. The receiver gain can be individually adjusted over a range of 30dB for all modes and beams. ASAR data are FBAQ encoded and the quantizer number or block ID is used to analyse the dynamic range of Level 0 products. Besides the echo signal dynamic also the dynamic of the calibration pulses has to be taken into account. Gain adjustments have been performed in Wave and Image/Alternating Polarization Mode.
