A method to control the propagation of a frequency-modulated wave packet in the ionosphere with the use of the dispersive refraction effect is considered. The problem is solved in the spectral domain on the basis of the superposition principle. In this spectral approach, the dispersive refraction is considered as space-time focusing of the spectral components of the wave packet. Numerical results demonstrate the possibility to use the dispersive properties of the ionosphere for the creation of controlled radio channels.
