The paper examines Voyager data on the Saturn rings and considers various mechanisms that may be responsible for the presence of spokes, which are dark spots on the light plane of the rings. An original hypothesis is presented, wherein it is proposed that the spoke effect occurs in the case of the ordered space orientation of particles in a flat cloud if the ordered orientation of particles is disrupted in part of this cloud. This distortion of regular orientation is probably caused by the anomalous orientation of the magnetic field lines above certain regions of the planet, even though there is as yet no evidence of magnetic anomalies on Saturn.
