The present conference on plasma physics encompasses basic plasma phenomena including waves and instabilities, nonlinear phenomena, magnetically confined plasmas, inertially confined plasmas, astrophysical plasmas, particle beams, and the generation, emission, and absorption of radiation. Specific issues addressed include fluctuations and low-frequency stability, collisionless plasma transport across loop magnetic fields, theory of the tokamak beta limit and implications for second stability, TEXT tokamak edge turbulence modeling, and intense laser plasma interactions from Janus to Nova. Also addressed are dynamos and angular momentum transport in accretion disks, space plasma and its origin at the sun, efficient ultrafast laser-plasma X-ray sources, soft X-ray lasers and their applications, and the quenching of Einstein A coefficients in plasmas and lasers.
