The author proposes an analytical expression for the radiative
acceleration due to absorption of photons through bound-bound
transitions, which is valid in optically thick media, when pressure
broadening is dominant. He then derives approximate formulae for the
numerical evaluation of radiative acceleration in Ap star envelopes.
